What kind of tutors work for you? Are they teachers?
At HelloProf we look for the perfect teacher that meets your learning needs. Our teachers are experts in their field and know how to convey their knowledge in a fascinating way. We work with talented students, teachers, and people in the field with didactic experience.
Each teacher is personally interviewed and screened: we check their diplomas, request extracts of their criminal record, and continuously evaluate their performance, punctuality and professional knowledge.
Where and when do the tutoring sessions take place?
In short: you choose! The lessons take place at your home, at the teacher's home, at a quiet location nearby, or online via our special learning environment. Online lessons are 1-on-1 and work similar to Teams, Zoom, or Google Meet, but specifically designed for tutoring.
There is a shared whiteboard for explanations, uploading and editing school files, and interactive exercises. You can also share your screen and record sessions for later viewing. The biggest advantage of online tutoring is the flexibility to be able to quickly start with the best teacher for your needs, even if he or she lives on the other side of Belgium.
You can plan your lessons in consultation with your teacher, whether it is for an hour every week or more intensively just before a test. The hours are automatically deducted from your teaching package.
What is the price for an hour of tutoring?
The rate is linked to the number of teaching hours, the educational level of the lessons and the experience of the tutor. You can read more information on our rates page.
Is tutoring individual or in group?
The tutoring is completely individual; you will receive the teacher's full attention. Would you like to have a classmate, brother or sister participate? This is possible at a discount, as long as it has been agreed to in advance with the teacher and us.

How soon can I start tutoring?
We think it is important to help you as quickly as possible. That is why HelloProf works without a waiting list. Once we find the right teacher for you, you can start. For on-site tutoring, it usually takes an average of five working days. Online tutoring can start within two working days.
What if there is no personal connection with the tutor?
Then you can switch teachers for free, until it clicks perfectly. We think this is essential. With our extensive network of thousands of teachers, we guarantee that there is always an ideal match for you.
Is damage during the lesson covered?
Yes! Bijleshuis is insured through AXA for any accidental material damage that may occur during a lesson. Think of a spilled glass of water on your laptop or a scratched table. Any costs will be reimbursed, minus the excess.
